How To: Use Embeddable Tweets As Part Of Your Marketing Strategy

It seems like we've been talking a lot about Twitter lately. But that's because they have introduced plenty of new features that we absolutely love - many of which are going to be awesome for social media marketing if you're a business.

One of the newest features is so cool, you can take advantage of it, even if you don't have a Twitter account. I'm talking about embeddable tweets. I know you're probably wondering what the heck embeddable tweets are. Basically, you can grab a snippet of code to display any tweet and embed it (put it on) your website. Just like I have done below to the right.

That's right, you can go on to any persons Twitter profile and grab a snippet of code to embed any tweet on your blog or website. Ideally, to leverage this feature from a business perspective you should be on Twitter and you should be grabbing the snippet of code of one of your own tweets to put on your company blog or website. For starters, you can basically promote any tweet you want, and people that visit your website are only one click away from following you. Talk about a great way to introduce new people to your Twitter activity!

Twitter isn't the easiest place to navigate through, so we've put together a step-by-step guide for you to grab the embed code of any tweet.

Step 1: Go to the Twitter profile of the persons tweet you want to embed, remember it should be your own. But we understand there are times where you may want to embed someone elses tweet. For this example, I'll grab one of my own tweets, even while I'm signed out of Twitter. When you get to the tweet you want to embed, you'll notice when you hover over it, you'll see an "open" text link to the right of the tweet. Click on that.

Step 2: You'll notice once you click on the "open" link, the tweet will open up a bit and give you a "details" text link in the time stamp of the tweet. You want to click on that.

Step 3: Once you click on the "open" text link, you'll notice the tweet opens up all by itself in your browser. In the time stamp new text will appear: "Embed this Tweet." Obviously, that's your ticket right there... click on it!

Step 4: Once you've clicked on the 'embed tweet' link, you'll get a few options from Twitter. A new window will open up where you can grab the HTML of the tweet, configure it to lay left, right or centered, and even edit the code dimensions a bit. From here you want to take your code and have it embeded on your website or blog. Just like I have just done at the top of this blog post.
