3 Reasons I Love Pinterest
By now you’ve probably heard of this rapidly growing site, and if not: you’re not talking to any women under the age of 40. It cracked the top 10 social media sites last month and it is getting buzz all over the social media space: it’s Pinterest. I’m guessing as a busy business owner, you haven’t had time to check it out. Let me just tell you, if your business wants to talk to women 25-40, you better get educated. Here’s why it’s so great:
A picture says 1,000 words. Who has the time to page through lines of text anymore? In the busy world today, I don’t need another place to go to read stuff. With Pinterest, I can literally take a quick glance at it - it’s ALL PHOTOS! - and in under 30 seconds walk away with a new idea, inspiration, something I want to do or buy or at least find something that makes me laugh.
It’s inspiring and I literally become a better person. I feel more beautiful, live in a better space, I cook more and am a better person. At least I feel that way, because pinning all these photos of dream homes, decorating ideas, gorgeous clothes, scrumptious recipes and inspirational quotes is gratifying. A step closer to my hopes and dreams.
It keeps me organized. By nature, men are the hunters and women are the gatherers. We love shopping. Pinterest allows me to find all the best stuff and see how it works together. Plus, I can share it with others and remember where I found it if I’m not quite ready to buy.
How many times have I heard business owners tell me that the best marketing is word of mouth? We’re so lucky to live in a time that word of mouth has been taken so much further with the advent of social media. I give my entire network of friends and followers recommendations everyday that are not even asked for. Pinterest allows me to suggest things to others that they don’t even know they want. It’s intensely personal, but there’s definitely a place for businesses. Stay tuned for our ideas on making Pinterest work to spread the word about your company.
